If a preacher is overly emphasizing money, that person is going against what the Bible instructs:
1 Peter 5:2
"Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly."
Now, God says that any worker, including preachers, should be paid a fair wage, and it is our giving that finances any honorable charity or business, and He says it is better to give than to receive. Give what? All that we have was provided by Him. It's really His in the first place. He says He will reward our giving by the same measure of generosity that we give. That doesn't mean if we put $5 in the offering at church, we'll get $1000 in return. His rewards may be in the form of good health, successful relationship with our boss, or maybe our clunker of a car keeps running!
