What's the good news?

The Good News is that we can exchange our doomed life for a joyful, meaningful, purposeful, fulfilling eternal life in Christ starting now!

The Bible's Book of Romans gets us started, if we are truly sincere, ready to completely turn over our life to Jesus:

Chapter 10

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

We don't wait to surrender to Christ by trying to clean up our lives beforehand. Do it now. Today!

Pray a prayer like this (use this or your own):

Lord Jesus,
I believe You came to earth to save someone like me. I believe you died as a once-and-for-all sacrifice in order to wipe away my sins, known (name them), and unknown. Today I seriously commit to turning away from my sin, with Your forgiveness and help. If I fail from time to time, please prompt me to again seek your forgiveness. Thank You, Lord! You are worthy of praise, honor, Glory and power!
In Your Mighty Name,
Amen

Psalm 16

This is a song King David wrote after he was sorry for committing the sins of adultery with Bathsheba and murder by having her husband killed. With sincere regret and sorry for his sins, he confessed them, turned from them, and God forgave him, calling David "a man after My own heart"!

Keep me safe, my God,
    for in you I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
    “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
    I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
    or take up their names on my lips.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful[b] one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
