I know good Christians in both parties, and you'd be surprised as to why they vote as they do.
For instance, I know several Democrats who are socially conservative and against abortion on demand, but they vote for strong unions.
There have been a number of moderate Democratic politicians who are reasoned and listen to both sides. Harold Brown Jr. and Joe Manchen are two that I recall off hand.
I don't vote for the person necessarily. I vote for the platform. And my number one consideration is anti-abortion. That's not my opinion. It's God's.
He says in His Word,
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Jeremiah 1:5
God’s laws protecting life included the protection of unborn children. (1) Exodus 21:22 refers to a woman giving birth prematurely (i.e., before the baby is fully developed and ready to be born) because of violence done to her. The one causing harm had to pay a heavy penalty.
(2) If the mother or child was seriously injured, then the “law of retaliation” applied. The offender (i.e., the one causing the harm) had to pay or suffer in the same way that he or she had caused another to suffer. If the mother or child died, then the accused one was guilty of murder. The penalty was to give his or her life (v. 23). In such a case, the unborn child is viewed as a human being and the death of the fetus, or unborn child, is considered murder.
Is there any statement that is universally agreed upon by every person in America?
Yes!
I found two:
1. Jesus is neither a Democrat nor a Republican.
2. No one has ever adequately defined a liberal, conservative, fundamentalist, evangelical or radical.
On those two undeniable axioms we find absolute unity.
Oh! One more: black, white, HIspanic, liberal, conservative, Christian, Muslim, atheist Husky fans all love each other.
